Chlorhexidine, is a disinfectant and antiseptic that is used for skin disinfection before surgery and to sterilize surgical instruments. It may be used both to disinfect the skin of the patient and the hands of the healthcare providers

Application & Usage:

It is an anti-septic effective on both gram +ve and gram -ve bacteria.
It has both bacteriostatic and bactericidal mechanism of action.
It is used in oral mouthwashes, surgical scrubs, pet shampoos, sanitizers etc.
