Diethyl phthalate is a phthalate ester, appears as a clear colorless liquid without significant odor. More dense than water and insoluble in water. Hence sinks in water.

Application & Usage:

• Diethyl phthalate is used as a plasticizer in a wide variety of consumer products, including plastic packaging films, cosmetic formulations, and toiletries, as well as in medical treatment tubing.
• DEP is used as a plasticizer in consumer goods, including plastic packaging films, cosmetics, solvent for fragrances, a surface lubricant in food and pharmaceutical packaging, and in tubing used for medical purposes.
